The Porsche 918 Spyder was one of the "Holy Trinity" of hypercars — alongside the McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari. All three debuted in 2013, all three were hybrid hypercars, and all three instantly became the most coveted cars on earth.

The Salzburg livery pays tribute to the 1970 Porsche 917 that won Le Mans — that red-on-white #23 Gulf-rivalling scheme is one of the most iconic in motorsport. The 918 Salzburg edition was limited to just 918 units — the same as its name.

The 918 Spyder set a Nürburgring lap record of 6:57 in 2013 — it was the first road car to lap the legendary circuit in under 7 minutes. Its 887 HP comes from a combination of a 4.6L V8 engine and two electric motors.

Despite 887 HP, the 918 could drive on electricity alone — in pure EV mode it had a range of around 30 km and could reach 150 km/h on battery power alone. It was genuinely ahead of its time, proving hybrid technology could enhance rather than dilute the supercar experience.
